Description
Please join the World Trade Center Kentucky and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) for the next Global Executive Forum, Opportunities in Hong Kong and Asia. The United States is a major trading partner to Hong Kong. In 2019, the United States exported $30.78 billion in goods to Hong Kong, much of which was transshipped to mainland China and other regional markets. Hong Kong ranked 12th in exports from Kentucky in 2020 with $499M. The top export categories from the U.S. to Hong Kong include electrical machinery, precious metal and stone, art and antiques, machinery, and agricultural products
Hong Kong is a dynamic export market for U.S. agricultural products. Total U.S. agricultural exports reached US$3.1 billion in 2019, making Hong Kong the 9th-largest market for U.S. food and agricultural exports. For U.S. consumer-oriented exports, Hong Kong ranked 6th in 2019, with exports reaching US$2.8 billion. Hong Kong consumers are willing and able to pay for higher-quality goods.
Please join the World Trade Center Kentucky and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) for an engaging look at the Hong Kong and Asia market for Kentucky companies. Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Ryan Quarles will kick off this event with an introduction to the importance of Hong Kong and Asia to Kentucky's agricultural markets. Next, the HKTDC will lead us through an exploration of Hong Kong and Asia markets, the business opportunities these markets represent, and their new B2B virtual service. We will wrap up with the story of Alltech Asia and a look at the policy future for the region given the new 5 year plan from China. If your company is involved in or exploring exporting to Asia, attend this program to learn more and build new relationships.
