In an increasingly unstable trade environment, international companies need to identify savings in their supply chain to avert costs from increased tariffs and pandemic related trade costs. Covid-19 has put additional pressure on supply chains to be responsive, and find aggressive ways to recover costs.
This program will cover Duty Drawback (what is / how to) and Non Resident Importer for Canada. Drawback is the refund of certain duties, internal revenue taxes and certain fees collected upon the importation of goods. A Non-Resident Importer (NRI) is an organization located outside of Canada that ships goods to customers in Canada and assumes responsibility for customs clearance and other import-related requirements. NRI allows the U.S. exporter to include all shipping, customs clearances, duties and taxes in the shipping and handling fees charged to the customer, and may even be charged in Canadian dollars. In this way, the transaction appears to the Canadian consumer as a domestic transaction.
